Two spies. One mission. Only one will make it out alive.
Berlin, the Cold War, the ’80s. Somewhere in a labyrinthine building, they lie – the top-secret documents! Two intelligence agencies want them, but only one can triumph. An agent from the East, an agent from the West, the same mission: Find the papers and get out. Whatever the cost!
With charming low-res pixel graphics, you’ll comb through a labyrinth of rooms, open cabinets, desks, and dressers – and ideally leave your opponent a little surprise along the way. Doors and furniture can be rigged with a whole arsenal of nasty traps. After all, nothing is more satisfying than watching your opponent walk right into your own bomb. But be careful: If you don’t remember where you placed your “surprises,” you’ll blow up faster than you’d like.
And what if the two agents happen to meet in the same room? Then it’s time for the submachine guns to do the talking!

A Modern Take on a Classic Concept
OPERATION BACKSTAB is inspired by the spirit of 16‑bit action games, but it’s not a remake or a clone.
It’s a brand‑new interpretation of a classic game concept — built with fresh ideas, original art, and a unique identity.
Whether you’re a retro enthusiast, a pixel‑art lover, or simply someone who enjoys schadenfreude, OPERATION BACKSTAB offers a nostalgic yet modern experience for all ages.
The game is currently in development. Expected to be released in Q1 of next year. Demo available soon!
A Kickstarter campaign featuring a premium boxed edition is planned for later this year.
